What is Buljarica?
Buljarica is a bay on the Montenegrin coast where sea, marshland, mountains, and hinterland meet. It is home to a small village, one of the last marshlands on the Adriatic coast, and a landscape shaped by wetlands and birds, olive trees, small family-run places, forests, families, stories, and memory.
The threat
What is at risk is not only land, but the way life continues here. Our homes, marshlands, and community land are under pressure from large-scale development plans moving forward without real transparency or local consent. Special investment laws and government deals risk weakening protections for nature and pushing decisions away from the people who live here. We fear losing not just land, but the right to remain rooted where our lives have unfolded.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: to care for Buljarica as a living place.
We stand with the marshlands, the fields, the olive trees, and the people who belong to them. We work to protect nature, homes, and everyday community life, and to ensure that Buljarica’s future is shaped with those who live here, not without them.
This is not about stopping time.
